  1. For anyone who might be interested, I've made some informal translations of various writings by Met Antonios, which I hope to add to, here: http://araborthodoxy.blogspot.com/search/label/Met%20Antonios%20%28el-Souri%29

  2. How many parishes we're in his diocese verses how many are in the north American church. What are his leadership and management credentials?

  3. For coordinating an episcopal election and acting as an interface between the Patriarchate and the American Archdiocese, which is basically what his role is, those are somewhat irrelevant questions. The Archdiocese of Zahle is a couple dozen or so parishes, in a rather difficult geography, covering both the Greek Catholic and Hezbollah heartlands. But, since he's been there he's established at least one school (with plans for more) and a monastery. Previously, he was abbot of a monastery, and had been the priest specifically for youth activities in the Archdiocese of Tripoli and had had leadership roles in Antioch's Youth Movement and Syndesmos.

  4. (For those who remember, Met Silouan Muci basically had the same role the last time around).

  6. Just got back from a retreat at our local Antiochian Monastery. Abbots are especially gifted individuals, needing to be wise and kind shepherds of their communities. I think we'll be just fine!
