You still have people singing Stalin's praises, including Russian skinheads who exalt Hitler and Stalin. I rejoice that the church in Russia is making a comeback. But why doesn't Moscow excommunicate Zyuganov. He claims to bit a believer and yet heads the Communist Party in Russia. The refusal to fully recognize Jesus Christ as fully man and fully God is a constant temptation. The same goes for all heresy.

We are in one of the most deeply iconoclastic periods in history. Abortion is the worst example but their are many others.

The worship of the state in place of God is prevalent too.

Loving the created thing more than the Creator.
Michael Baumanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03025213649848660526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-73042886598650075.post-79957781102391379172017-10-31T08:30:12.591-05:002017-10-31T08:30:12.591-05:00There is a difference between remembering history ...There is a difference between remembering history in order not to repeat it and blaming historical events for people not going to church. No one now blames Arianism of that. And Communism still remains a perfect excuse despite there have already been two generations that have no relations to communism whatsoever.mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05572603372579540256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-73042886598650075.post-88047025418900352432017-10-31T07:18:44.858-05:002017-10-31T07:18:44.858-05:00"Communism needs to finally stop being a scap..."Communism needs to finally stop being a scapegoat...."

One could argue the same thing about the Tatars, Islam, or even Iconoclasm, Nestorianism, Arianism, etc. We preserve memory of these things to avoid their repeat (in that those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it).

I know that sometimes it sounds as though someone is beating a dead horse, but that doesn't stop it from being true.Brantley Hobbshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02847021322721436245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-73042886598650075.post-18636914596240603052017-10-31T03:43:33.614-05:002017-10-31T03:43:33.614-05:001. Interestingly, he considers Islam a threat, despite there are probably fever Muslims in Czechia or Slovakia than the adherents to the Jedi religion.

3. Communism needs to finally stop being a scapegoat for everything bad happens with Orthodoxy now. HB Rostislav was 11 when it fall. It had no strong social or political influence on his life. Same for most of the Orthodox living now.

4. It's uncommon for a Church leader to say that persecuting other religions together with the state was not exactly OK. Good for him. mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05572603372579540256noreply@blogger.com
