From what I've heard, the persecution in the Middle East has brought many of the the churches (Oriental Communion, Greek Communion, Catholic Communion, Assyrian Church) closer together. Maybe some good can come from evil.<br /><br />I'd also recommend Geoffrey Hull's 'The Banished Heart'. It has a great perspective on the liturgical problems of Rome and managed to anger both Trads and Libs.
