OCANews reports Bp. Melchisedek in hospital

The official OCA news release is here.

(OCANews) - In a brief email notice to the Synod and Metropolitan Council early this morning, Fr. Eric Tosi, OCA Secretary revealed that Bishop Melchisedek, the interim Chancellor, has been taken to a Long Island hospital. Fr. Tosi writes:

"His Grace Bishop Melchisedek has been checked into Glen Cove Hospital. He was complaining of abdominal pains all day yesterday. Fr Alexander (Garklavs) brought him to the emergency room and was with him until late last night. It was determined that he has a hernia and will require surgery. We were unsure of his status and whether he will be operated on until they made the determination.

At this point he will remain here on Long Island and most likely have surgery in the next day or so. He is doing well and in no danger."
