Patriarchal Parishes in the USA meet at Antiochian Village

(ROC-USA) - On September 30, the XIV General Convocation of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA began its work under the chairmanship of Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Interim Administrator of Patriarchal Parishes. This gathering took place at the Antiochian Village near Ligonier, PA, a spiritual center of Antiochian Archdiocese in North America.

  1. Purple vestments? I guess it's because it's the afterfeast of the Elevation of the Cross. The usual color is red, though I've seen some Russian clergy wear green.

  4. ROCOR uses red, because they use white for Pascha as was the practice before the Russian revolution. Since the Patriarchal Parishes (and the Moscow Patriarchate as a whole) use red for Pascha, they use another color for feasts of the Cross, in this case purple.
