Few things bring more comfort and assurance of the survival of the Church than hearing the truth boldly proclaimed. I was worried for a moment that perhaps Fr. Josiah would not be his usual self given the mass hysteria, but as usual he hit the mark perfectly. “The last thing America needs are weak kneed Orthodox ...who don’t know what they believe and don’t have conviction to maintain what our fathers gave us”
“Go on living the Christian life. The idea that we would in any way abandon that which gives us Resurrection Life, such as reception of Holy Communion, gathering together in sacred life giving koinonia (fellowship) or venerating icons; the idea that we would stop doing any of those things is absolutely ludicrous”
Amen, amen, amen.
Also very helpful that he cited how the Church grew in large part due to the uniquely Christian response to plague, a very timely reminder.
