#DidYouKnow: The Orthodox churches in Europe, America, Australia, and Britain lie within the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Children's fantasies about being a Queen or a Knight are more relevant, realistic, and healthy then such delusional fever dreams of ethnic old (or new) worlders.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Archons need to broaden their idea of what it means to support the Constantinople Patriarchate. Encouraging this fantastic thinking will only diminish it more quickly.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pity that the Patriarch of Constantinople doesn't pay attention to history. If he id the he would know Australia is under Moscow's jurisdiction as they were here first in 1805 (I think) with a number of subsequent visits including the celebration of Pascha with the Governor of the colony present.
ReplyDeleteNo greeks until more than half a century later, the Antiochians were the chief advocates for an Orthodox priestly presence.
Fr Paul: Sad to say, the Constantinople claim is that history is irrelevant. Russia was first on the North American continent too. The CP claim is that ancient canons give them jurisdiction over the whole world outside the bounds of the former Roman Empire.
