Sokolovsky was not arrested after a one-time offense; like Pussy Riot(!) he committed multiple offenses and was warned multiple times by the authorities to stop making his YouTube videos promoting both anti-religious hatred and interethnic hatred. General rule from an American living in Russia for 4 years now: if Western coverage of a story in Russia lacks nuance and seems oversimplified, it's probably half the story.Matvey Casshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14121365910878071505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-73042886598650075.post-85361418080875480002017-03-14T17:45:20.092-05:002017-03-14T17:45:20.092-05:00Meh, he was purposely breaking the law and trying ...Meh, he was purposely breaking the law and trying to be disrespectful. I suppose there's an argument for whether it should be a law. However, the fact is that over there, it's a law (personally, I'm fine with the law).
