On the other hand, I should think fundamental to any effective thrust for Orthodox administrative unity in the U.S. would be each jurisdiction getting its moral house in order and returning to traditional Orthodox practice (and particularly in terms of the spirituality and morality of its Bishops!). I'm reading *Beauty from Ashes: The Spiritual Transformation of a Modern Greek Community* the true story of Bp. Meletios, Metropolitan of Prevezza in Greece, whose arrival and ministry in this region in 1980 began a healing after decades of Church corruption had spiritually wasted the community. Let us pray God might raise up such Bishops for us here in the States in all jurisdictions (and, indeed, throughout the world!). I believe that administrative unity would then speedily follow.ofgracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15472912900056438243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-73042886598650075.post-75759053642305947942012-11-02T21:54:59.203-05:002012-11-02T21:54:59.203-05:00It is unfortunate that in their U.S. meeting on No...It is unfortunate that in their U.S. meeting on November 1, 2012, Archbishop Demetrios of America and Metropolitan Hilarion of Russia did not discuss the critical need for uniting all of the piecemeal ethnic Orthodox jurisdictions in America into one united Orthodox Church.

This stumbling block to progress of Orthodoxy in the United States must be addressed and rectified -- and the sooner the better for America's Orthodox Christians.George Patsourakoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07469472363055626897noreply@blogger.com
