Let the churches get together to establish dialog and re-establish a sense of peaceful tolerance among the Christian communities of Ukraine.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-73042886598650075.post-32729502699093032652014-08-27T14:15:25.982-05:002014-08-27T14:15:25.982-05:00History has since proven this analysis correct. The US State Dept. has contacted members of Svoboda's neo fascist party to help overthrow the elected president and set up a regime that would be anti-Russian and pro NATO (a Cold War anti Russian military alliance), which the US was anxious to get into Ukraine on Russia's southern border. Germany advised against it, but the US got its way. Protests in eastern Ukraine against the coup that ousted Yanukovych were brutally put down, as Washington Post reported, in Slovyansk and Odessa, where "dozens" of protesters were massacred Donetsk was bombarded and also bombed from the air, causing civilian deaths and damage. Russia had the ethnic Russian majority in Crimea vote for annexation and helped the ethnic Russian rebels in the east to withstand the Ukrainian armed offensive. Even after Poroshenko was elected president, he both urged for "dialog" and the continuing of the attack on the rebels in the east. Bullets and bombs are not dialog. A Russian Orthodox bishop said that the Ukrainian armed forces had bombarded several ROC churches and killed some people. Along with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, there is a "volunteer battalion" that is very suspicious and is probably led by US Special Ops as well as Svoboda and sympathizers, some of them foreigners. Joe Biden's son was hired by an energy company in June to help them with gas deposits in the east, according to Fox News and The Wire. A tragic result of US pushing for NATO in Ukraine and the violent coup d'etat at the end of the demonstrations in Kyiv as a result of Svoboda and other neo fascists taking advantage of the protests.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-73042886598650075.post-36361108385383936582013-12-10T09:06:25.712-06:002013-12-10T09:06:25.712-06:00Russia controls the majority to Ukraine, as well a...Russia controls the majority to Ukraine, as well as all of the EU. It borders Russia along with Poland and to a lesser degree Slovakia and Hungary. Ukraine was a major setting of the Crimean War, in which Western powers like the UK and France allied with the Muslim Ottomans to weaken Orthodox Russia. Zbigniew Brzezinksi's "The Grand Chessboard" is a kind of Western manifesto of why conquering Eurasia is important for the establishment of a World Empire. I don't support the author's position, but it's great for insight into the mind of an influential conquistador. I mean, those monks are to be praised for protecting a great many people from police brutality, but the Kyiv Patriarchate's nationalism and lack of recognition by any other Patriarchate make their moves in this conflict look a tad calculated.Vladimir92https://www.blogger.com/profile/05208004777937206463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-73042886598650075.post-19388668156290991042013-12-05T14:05:59.922-06:002013-12-05T14:05:59.922-06:00Interesting how the author framed this Ukraine/US/...Interesting how the author framed this Ukraine/US/EU ties as positives, with Russian ties being oppressive by relating them to Soviet days. There is other reporting that links the demonstrators to EU/US NGO's which are funded and controlled with US Intelligence money. At stake is a central economy in Eurasia, control of which has been sought for centuries.

I find it shameful that this reporter doesn't cover the potential foreign influence and funding of the demonstrators, and exactly what that means for the region. There is more to the story than the good EU vs the big bad Russian Bear. Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18288849522994640993noreply@blogger.com
