Sumy (RISU) — Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) members protested the construction of a Greek Catholic church in Sumy. According to the UNIAN news agency, a procession celebrating the Day of Triumph of Orthodoxy started from the UOC-MP Savior-Transfiguration Cathedral in the center of Sumy and proceeded to Railway Station Square – previously a cemetery and the planned site of the new Catholic church – and was attended by approximately 2000 people expressing dissatisfaction with the notion of building a Greek Catholic church “on Orthodox bones.” Ouch!
