Tagged!

I was tagged by Unam Sanctam (a highly recommended blog).

The rules are:

  1. The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Check!
  2. Each player answers the questions about themselves. Check!
  3. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Check!
What was I doing 10 years ago:

Working at local small ISP (Internet Service Provider) as a technical support manager. Lofty title for someone making the same pay as a day laborer.

Five things on my To Do List today:
  1. Shave - an infrequent and over-rated activity.
  2. Feed kids cinnamon toast. My culinary skills are rather limited.
  3. Conference call on network monitoring system. This project will never end.
  4. Cut away at huge piles of mulch and compost laying in my front yard. Bought a lot of both. Still looking for places to put it all.
  5. Work with son on scouting arrow points.
Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
  1. Give money to Transfiguration College.
  2. Give money to my church.
  3. Give money to the poor in Africa.
  4. Buy a few hundred acres. Wake up every morning, roll out of bed, shoot skeet for a while, go back to bed for a little bit longer. Repeat daily.
  5. Go to school forever.
  6. Employ a gaggle of tutors for the kids.
  7. Travel... a lot.
Three of my bad habits:
  1. I get up too late.
  2. I don't spend enough time talking to the wife.
  3. I hog all the Netflix queue choices.
Five places I have lived:

1. Fort Worth, TX
2. Irving, TX
3. Santa Clara, CA
4. Half Moon Bay, CA
5. Gainesville, GA
Five jobs I’ve had:
  1. Guy who cleans up the beach. Not as fun as it sounds.
  2. Technical Support Rep. That doesn't even sound fun.
  3. Y2k Specialist. How long do you think that job lasted?
  4. NOC tech.
  5. IP Engineer
If you include my unpaid jobs:

My aunts and uncles can be blamed for all these jobs.
  1. Machete wielding vine thinner. "Here. Take this and clear the vines of those trees."
  2. Tractor riding lawn mower. "Don't know how to work it? I'll start it for you and you just steer. I'll come back out in a few hours to turn her off."
  3. Heavy object relocator - often up or down stairs. "Thanks for coming by for lunch. Before you leave (unrolls paper to the floor) could you help me move a few things."
  4. VCR clock setter, computer application supporter, and PC hardware installer.
