Iraqi Armenian Primate to visit the US

His Eminence Archbishop Avak Assadourian, Primate of the Diocese of Iraq, visits the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America. His Eminence was one of the high-ranking clergymen accompanying His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, during the Pontiff’s May 2008 visit to His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.

The Primate of Iraq has previously visited the Western Diocese and on several occasions celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon to the faithful in a number of parishes.

The high ranking guest clergy will celebrate the Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at the Western Diocese according to the following schedule:

• St. Andrews Armenian Church, Santa Clara Valley, Sunday, June 22, 2008.
• St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church, Pasadena, Sunday, June 29, 2008.
• St. James Armenian Church, Los Angeles, Sunday, July 6, 2008.
