I was down in Houston over the weekend and had this surprise picture taken. Recently many of Orthodox have been following the story of Mr. Atkinson (aka Real Live Preacher), a Baptist pastor in San Antonio who is on sabbatical for 13 weeks and hoping for new spiritual experiences. It seems that he had planned to see many different types of Christian worship, but after attending a Divine Liturgy at St. Anthony the Great in his hometown has been returning to Orthodox parishes over and over. Readers will find some striking similarities with the Frederica Mathewes-Green / new to Orthodox genre of writing (a la Facing East). The first in a series of posts on his visits can be found here.
