Metropolitan Jonah in Alaska

A tad late in posting, but I liked this photo.

(OCA) - Metropolitan Jonah began his first official visit to Alaska as primate of the Orthodox Church in America on July 29, 2009, in Kwethluk, Alaska.

His Grace, Bishop Benjamin of San Francisco and the West, Locum Tenens of the DIocese of Alaska, accompanied His Beatitude.

Father Alexander Larson and his wife, Matushka Helen (nee Michael, Matushka Olga's youngest daughter present His Beatitude with an icon reproduction of Matushka Olga which was then venerated by the hierarchs, clergy and hundreds of faithful at her gravesite.

  1. I haven't seen that photo.. it's is beautiful. Two of my kids were in AK and with Met. JONAH for his first pilgrimage to Spruce Island.

I hope someday that Mat. Olga will officially be made a saint.
