Patriarch Adai II meets with Patriarch Ignatius Zakka I


Mor Aphrem Monastery, Syria -Aug 24, 2009 (Syrianchurch) - H.H. Mar Addai II Catholics patriarch of the Ancient church of the East of Iraq and the world, paid a visit to Patriarch H.H Mar Ignatius Zakka-I, the supreme pontiff of the Syriac Orthodox Church at his residence in the monastery of St. Aphrem the Syrian, Ma`rrat Sayyidnaya, Damascus.

During the visit the supreme pontiffs discussed about the relationships between the churches and about the committees constituted for mutual cooperation. They also discussed the general situation of Christians in Iraq. The meeting was attended by Metropolitans H.E Mor Philoxinos Mattias Nayis, the Patriarchal Assistant and H.E Mor Dionnasios Behanam Jajavi and a large number of priests and monks of the Syrian Orthodox Church,

during the pastoral visit the head of the Ancient church of the East was accompanied by H.G Mar Zaia Khoshaba, the bishop of Bagdad, father Ezaria Warda Benyamin, the priest of St. Maria Cathedral in Bagdad, the media men and a number of believers of the church from Iraq.
