Fr. Michael Dahulich to administrate NY/NJ diocese

At the same time rather excited to see what Fr. Dahulich is going to do with the diocese and unsure about the future of St. Tikhon's Seminary. Also rather amused by the new beard. I have only seen him with a very clean shaven look before.

(NYNJOCA) - His Beatitude, Metropolitan JONAH, has appointed Bishop-Elect, Hieromonk Michael Dahulich as administrator of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey effective January 1, 2010.

As Administrator of the diocese, he will work with the Diocesan Chancellor, Archpriest Joseph Lickwar on all routine issues. As Diocesan Administrator and Bishop-Elect, he may, on behalf of His Beatitude, sign letters of approval of the Parish Council members, begin scheduling visitations to Diocesan parishes and deaneries, review pastoral and/or parish issues, and in cases where the issues necessarily require the action of a hierarch notify His Beatitude. His Beatitude will remain the locum tenens of the Diocese until May 8, 2010.

His Beatitude will vacate the Diocesan Center in Bronxville in March 1, 2010, and Father Michael may begin moving his personal items to the Center, and Diocesan Archives, currently held by the chancellor, returned to the Center.

His Beatitude also announces that Bishop–Elect, Hieromonk Michael Dahulich will be consecrated Bishop of New York, Diocese of New York and New Jersey on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Jersey City, New Jersey.

On Sunday, May 9th, the newly consecrated bishop will enthroned at the Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral, New York, New York.

Details concerning these events are forthcoming.

Archpriest Joseph Lickwar
Chancellor
