Russian catechism work continues

The push to get this catechism completed must be quite strong. There are more updates on this one effort than any other I have ever seen from Moscow's news arm. It will be interesting to see how this work continues.

(mospat.ru) - The core working group for preparing a modern catechesis of the Russian Orthodox Church met on 4 March 2010 at the Department for External Church Relations. It was chaired by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk.

The meeting was attended by supervisors of working groups preparing the issue sections of the catechesis including ‘God and Man’, ‘Church and Liturgy’, ‘Life in Christ’ giving instructions on personal morality, asceticism and prayer, ‘Church and Modern World’ dealing with the social teaching of the Church and topical problems of today.

The meeting clarified the structure of the new catechesis, appointed the teams of authors for sections, defined the size of each section and adopted the procedure for further work and time-frames for preparing texts.
