And also...KYIV (RISU) – On February 5, 2010, Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the USA in Ukraine, John Tefft, met with the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), Metropolitan Volodymyr, in his residence in the Kyiv Cave Monastery. The ambassador inquired about the life of the UOC-MP, its relations with other Orthodox and non-Orthodox denominations and the history of the Ukrainian state. During the meeting John Tefft expressed hope for productive cooperation between the UOC and the embassy, reports the web site of the UOC-MP.

According to the press service of the Kyivan Patriarchate, the parties exchanged thoughts about the religious situation in Ukraine.

The head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate informed the guest about the status and prospects of the dialogue between the branches of Orthodoxy in Ukraine and expressed hope that the problem will be solved in the spirit of the Christian love.
