Holy Synod of Church of Antioch to convene next week

(antiochian.org) - His Eminence Metropolitan Philip will depart today, August 9, for the Middle East, where he will attend the upcoming meeting of the Holy Synod of Antioch which is scheduled to begin on August 17th, 2010.

We ask all of the faithful to pray that His Eminence will have a safe and productive journey. We also ask for prayers for all of our beloved hierarchs of the See of Antioch as they gather together in brotherly love to do the work of the Church, guided by the Holy Spirit.

  1. Yes, do pray for Metropolitan Philip, that he may be retired by year's end.

Not to change the subject but what happened to all the Western Rite Orthodox Blogs? They pretty much all have died off, even WESTERN ORTHODOXY hasn't had a post in over a year. The rest have such infrequent posts that renders the blogs useless.
I thought Fr. John Fenton, who used to have a very good blog, was charged with establishing a Western Rite Blog for all the WR parishes to hopefully contribute to but I guess that died a stillbirth.
And whatever happened to Eric Jobe? Qatl Qitl Qutl had a couple of facinating posts that he said would continue but he disappeared! And Fr. Matthew Thurman, once a strong proponent of the Western Rite, went Eastern!
Somebody needs to clear the dead wood from the blog rolls.
    Apologies for being so annoyed.
I miss WR news or is there no WR News!?!

  2. I'd have to agree on the lack of Western Rite news. I see new missions and parishes popping up, but not much else. People, feel free to post news resources / blogs and I'll try and keep up with them.
