Romanian Archdiocese congress notes

(ROAA) - The 77th Congress of the Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese in the Americas was held between July 1 - 4, 2010 at the Archdiocesan Center in Chicago, for the first time in a new structure. The first part, on working committees formed around the auxiliary commissions and organizations of the Archdiocese, and the second part representing the actual work session of the Congress.

Thursday, July 1, starting at 8.30 am, the Archdiocesan Council meeting was held with an Agenda containing topics regarding the conduct of the Congress, and the smooth running of our Archdiocese. After lunch it took place AROLA (Association of the Romanian Orthodox Ladies Auxiliary) and ROYA (Youth Organization) conferences.

AROLA Conference was a great success by the participation of over 25 representatives of the ladies auxiliary organizations of our Archdiocese. His Eminence Nicolae’s participation along with Fr. Gherman and Fr. Daniel Ene as advisors showed the importance of this organization for our Archdiocese. AROLA's president Ms. Theodora Miller presented a rich agenda and the 2008-2010 activity report proposing for approval the AROLA new Statutes. A new steering committee was elected with a new AROLA structure (2010-2012). The full activity report of the organization from 2008-2010 was presented along with the financial report, the 2011 and 2012 budget and the proposed and approved activities program for 2010-2012. The ROYA Conference had also an increased participation, several targets being proposed over the next two years. His Grace Ioan Casian presided the meeting, Fr.
