The website Suggestions for the Episcopal Assembly has an idea for arranging America into geographic dioceses (excluding Canada). It is the same regional break-down used by the USCCB and the federal government.
According to the parish directory at the SCOBA website (which will no doubt be eventually superseded by a website for the EA, to be at EpiscopalAssembly.org, if WHOIS lookups are to be believed), there are (roughly) 1,928 Orthodox parishes in the U.S. Here are the breakdowns by state...

Looks good overall. I'm pretty sure the final will look something like this. I would probably put Arkansas and Lousiana in group IV and move Arizona to VI.
