ReplyDeleteOctober 1st is coming up so it's a timely icon.
This is also a great song (personal favorite):

Thank you for the post, Josephus.
ReplyDeleteWe have a long way to go with this database and are asking as many people as possible to join the gallery. Basically, just sign up and start adding any icons from your own collection and place them in the right categories with searchable keywords. We have specific iconography search fields such as: Nationality, School (of Icon Painting), Age and Iconographer. We are trying to tag every saint that can be determined in each of the icons. Members can clarify "unknown" saints if they know who they are (a la "wiki"). In time, we are optimistic that this will be an excellent Orthodox resource.
For our part, we have more than 5000 images that need to be uploaded, but with all the emphasis on getting the webstore up, we have only gotten several hundred up so far.
Thanks again!

An exciting project to be sure, Fr. I need to add an image to the sidebar to advertise it more.
ReplyDeleteJosephus, if you need anything from me, please let me know... you can prob. find appropriate images on the site, but if you want me to make up a custom one for your purposes, just let me know the dimensions and any design requirements.
