Blessing of an "Orthodoxy or Death" banner in Moscow

Moscow (ru-news.ru) - On Saturday, 09 October at Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit pastor Abbot Sergius (Rybko) consecration of the new banner "Orthodoxy or Death!" was performed. Consecration took place at the request of Orthodox-patriotic organizations.

  4. What does this mean? Looks ominous. Are they saying I will be Orthodox or die? Or are they saying You will be Orthodox or die?
    The former I understand as preferring martyrdom over apostasy but the latter sounds too much like Orthodox Jihadist/Crusade! NOT GOOD!!!

      The person holding, wearing or showing this means they are willing to die rather than deny Christ or the Orthodox Faith.

  6. Interesting that this flag is very similar to the Knights Templar naval flag that we now call the Jolly Rodger, Skull and cross bone. A very ancient Christian symbol that at one time were put at the bottom of tomb stones representing how all flesh will corrupt and the bones representing the soul better be prepared.
