Australian OCA parish transfers to Serbian diocese

(spc.rs) - The Serbian Orthodox Church has become richer for one more parish, especially because it is the only one in the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand in which the official liturgical language is English.

The Parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Homebush,a western suburb of Sydney, closed to the Sydney Olympic village, has been transfered to the jurisdiction of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The transfer became official with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy which was served by His Grace Bishop Irinej with the concelebration of protopresbyter Jovan Vesic, local parishioner and deacons Branko Vasilic and Nikola Mrdjenovic.
