Ordination of Sub-Deacon of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Orthodox ChurchHere's one of the future subdeacon's catechetical videos in sign language (more available here):
Acolyte Tigran will be ordained sub-deacon by H.E. Archbishop Hovnan Derderian on the feast of the Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin.
You are invited to this special ceremony because probably in the Armenian Church history, there is no Deaf sub-deacon. As witnesses, to see this is once history for Deaf Armenians.
I want to make sure that you will be attending so I can prepare ASL translation for you.

It is great to see this happening in Orthodoxy in America. A commitment to Deaf ministry is long overdue by Orthodox jurisdictions in the US, so this is wonderful news. I hope this will help encourage further involvement and ministry for the Deaf. Many years to the new sub-deacon!
