Lanterns for life at Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow

Would that we did something like this in the cathedrals of this country. And yet, while we Orthodox publicly, dogmatically decry abortion, a majority of the faithful also (according to recent studies) have no problem with keeping it legal (see here).

Moscow, September 7 (Interfax) - Action to protect life starts soon at the Patriarshy Most in Moscow and will last for several weeks.

Special lanterns are to be installed in frames of the action and each lantern will be switched on each time when a new child is born in Russia, organizers of the meeting told Interfax-Religion

The action is initiated by Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery, Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the Family Planning Center, organizers asked for church blessing of the action.
