Brookline, MA (OCF) - For more than ten years His Eminence Metropolitan Isaiah of Denver has faithfully served as the Episcopal liaison for Orthodox Christian Fellowship, first to SCOBA and more recently to the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops. His Eminence has been a most necessary and helpful provider in giving OCF the sage spiritual and administrative counsel needed to grow and fulfill campus ministry over the years. Through the leadership and direct support of His Eminence, OCF has transformed a loose association of campus chapters into a strong and vibrant ministry of the various jurisdictions of Orthodox Christianity in North America. For His Eminence’s dedicated service to OCF, the students and staff are most sincerely appreciative. OCF Executive Director Jennifer Nahas said, “I can’t imagine OCF being where it is today without the spiritual leadership His Eminence has provided. We are tremendously thankful for His many years of service.” As he continues serving the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Denver and in other roles in the Assembly of Bishops, the entire OCF family prays that God grant Him many, many years.
By appointment of the Assembly of Bishops, OCF is excited to announce that His Grace Bishop Gregory of Nyssa will act as the new Episcopal Liaison to the organization effective immediately. His Grace will continue the good work of His Eminence Metropolitan Isaiah and continue to build a strong and vibrant campus ministry in North America. When asked to comment about the new appointment, OCF North American Chaplain, Fr. Michael Ellis said, “We are so excited as we begin this new chapter with His Grace Bishop Gregory. His reputation as a hard worker and champion of Youth and College Ministry precedes him, and we can’t wait to work closely with His Grace, growing the ministry by His prayers and leadership.” His Grace is the newly consecrated and enthroned Bishop of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of America, having come from the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta as both a beloved Parish Priest and Traveling Preacher, among many other things. He has a strong history of being an active participant and leader in Youth and College Ministry, making the appointment a perfect fit.
