Sister Vassa on St. Irenaeus of Lyons

I happily post this video as St. Irenaeus is a favored saint of mine (so much so that my youngest is named after him). Sr. Vassa points to many important aspects of his life and theology, but I've always found quite telling how the heresies and ideologies he deplored are many of the same ones we battle today from without and within the Church.

By sharing in the ways of the Apostles, you became a successor to their throne. Through the practice of virtue, you found the way to divine contemplation, O inspired one of God; by teaching the word of truth without error, you defended the Faith, even to the shedding of your blood. Hieromartyr Irenæus, entreat Christ God to save our souls!
