Ukraine is complicated, y'all.

Moscow, July 29 (Interfax) - Archbishop Job (Getcha) of Telmessos, representative of the Constantinople Patriarchate at the World Council of Churches, received an invitation from Ukrainian schismatic leader Filaret Denisenko to participate in the procession with cross of the 'Constantinople Patriarchate', however he refused.

The Ukraine's Union of Orthodox Journalists reports on Friday with reference to their sources that on the eve during celebrations of the anniversary of the Baptism of Russia on the Vladimirskaya Gorka, Denisenko twice suggested the archbishop to march with representatives of the 'Kiev Patriarchate' along the streets, but he met polite refusal.

On the same day, Archbishop Job co-celebrated the Liturgy with the primate of the canonical Orthodox Church of Ukraine Metropolitan Onufry in the Kiev Laura of the Caves.

  1. Thank God! It has been reported thst Denisenko's followers were trying to break pilgrims' icons as they were entering Kiev.

  2. That seems to lay to rest the idea that the UOC-KP would be unilaterally recognized by Constantinople.
