The explosive growth of the Orthodox church among the Guatemalan Mayans can be best understood by taking a close look at their leadership, especially Fr Andres Giron of blessed memory. He was a man who defied the politicians, defending the basic human rights of the oppressed Mayans. See a brief bio at: https://www.ocmc.org/images/PDFs/OCMC_Spring_2014_web.pdf pgs 10-14. Compare him to the corrupt leadership we have in the U.S. We have an archbishop who gives patriarchal Archons to evil anti-Christian, anti-family, pro-abortion politicians: https://byztex.blogspot.com/2016/10/more-on-egregious-feting-of-gov-cuomo.html and https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/greek-orthodox-inexplicably-give-highest-humanitarian-award-to-andrew-cuomo
This is sadly part of a very common occurrence in Kosovo. Vandals enter churches, set them on fire, then they urinate and defecate in them. ...
"The World is trying the experiment of attempting to form a civilized but non-Christian mentality. The experiment will fail; but we must be very patient in awaiting its collapse; meanwhile redeeming the time: so that the Faith may be preserved alive through the dark ages before us; to renew and rebuild civilization, and save the World from suicide."
It's odd how it took Meso-Americans to get the Orthodox thinking about missionary Churches as opposed to diaspora Churches.
