You have to assume they spoke about the recent discomfort to the west as well...
(ROC-DECR) - On October 30, 2018, His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Great Antioch and All the East, met with the representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarchal Throne of Antioch, Hegumen Arseny (Sokolov).
In the course of the talk, which took place at the Patriarchal residence, Father Arseny informed His Beatitude about the progress made in preparations for the 60th anniversary of the Damascus representation of the Russian Orthodox Church. The celebrations are planned for the second part of this November. On the feast day, the Divine Liturgy at the church of the representation will be presided over by His Beatitude John X.
The talk concerned various details of the conduct of the celebration including its program.
The Damascus representation of the Russian Orthodox Church was opened in 1958. Bishop Ioann (Weyland, 1909-1989) of Podolsk (later Metropolitan of Yaroslavl and Rostov), an outstanding figure of the Russian Orthodox Church in the later 20th century, was the first representative of the Patriarch of Moscow to the Patriarch of Antioch. His 110th birthday will be marked on January 1, 2019.
I think the thread title may need some adjusting for clarity. The MP was not actually there.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say the same thing. One could say "a representative of the MP met with the Patriarch of Antioch."
