St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in McKinney, TX has had a very difficult time getting into their new church. First, the city of McKinney mandated quite a bit in regulations for their new temple. That was the first hurdle. They collected money for the additional requirements.
Then, the city demanded, if you can believe this, sixteen thousand dollars worth of landscaping after they got the building erected. They are still working on this with a Sponsor a Tree website available here.
Thirdly, after pouring concrete for their church and waiting for the city to provide a certificate of occupancy, thieves came in the night and stole their air conditioning units.
So today the church sits empty with AC units donated by local clergy, thousands of dollars short on landscaping, and a city puttering around about an occupancy permit.
They need prayers, they need word of mouth, and they need money. Please point people to this site, send what money you can, and know that your names will be added to their permanent benefactors dypthics and you will be commemorated every week.

In addition to all of this, the city is demanding a $30,000 fence for the property. Before they will even consider granting a Temporary Occupancy certificate. If your short on cash, but would still like to help out the church. Please consider a cordial phone call or letter to their city council member's office. Information can be found here:
