OISM welcomes new officers

Newly elected officers (from left to right): Ms. Christina Randol - Treasurer (HCHC), Rdr. John Adrian Martin - Vice President (HTS), Sdn. William Bennett - President (CSS), and Ms. Sarah Hunt - Secretary (HCHC)
I'm just back from a trip to Jordanville (Holy Trinity Seminary) for the Spring meeting of the Orthodox Inter-Seminary Movement (OISM). The keynote speaker was Rev. Kevin Kalish, Ph.D. on “The Language of the King James Bible.” He was followed by a talk given by the multi-talented seminarian Nicholas Kotar (HTS) on the idea expressed by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (quoting Dostoyevsky) that “Beauty will save the world.” After those talks new officers were voted in (pictured above).

Having gone to OISMs for a few years now, I can say that each institution has its own peculiarities and surprises. Jordanville, because of the language barrier, remote location, and monastic influence is the most arresting of the seminary experiences for many. That said, the hospitality, beauty of the grounds, and liberal bookstore discount make all those differences seem less pronounced.
