The calling of men to the diaconate in the Armenian Church

  1. Why no mention of the calling of women to the diaconate? The Armenian orthodox Church is one of the few churches in which the ordination of women as deaconesses did NOT die out.

    1. That wasn't their title for the picture. Also, we don't know that women were ordained as men were.

"In 1984, Archbishop Vatche Hovsepian, Primate of the Western Diocese, ordained Seta Simonian Atamian acolyte at the holy altar of St. Andrew Armenian Church, in Cupertino, Calif. In 2002, Archbishop Gisak Mouradian, Primate of Argentina, ordained Maria Ozkul to the diaconate."

    1. I think I've even posted that article on here before. I was referring to the Orthodox Church. I didn't mention women because... there aren't any women in the photo.
