FARMINGTON HILLS, MI (OCA-DMW) — A Pan-Orthodox Christian charity, Outreach Detroit Foundation [ODF], was recently established to help finance Detroit’s Own Orthodox Radio Program [DOOR] on WNZK AM 690 and other Orthodox charities dedicated to serving the poor in metropolitan Detroit.

“ODF’s mission is to support Orthodox charities serving metropolitan Detroit through fellowship and charitable, educational and outreach programs that inspire and improve lives,” ODF’s founder, Richard J. Shebib, said. “We serve by living our Ancient Faith in the modern world, loving and caring for one another in our great city.”

Mr. Shebib is Chairman of ODF’s board of directors. Todd Gulich, a Waterford-based business consultant, is ODF’s President and Chief Executive Officer. He is a member of the Antiochian Orthodox Basilica of Saint Mary, Livonia, MI; a former President of the Council of Orthodox Christian Churches of Metropolitan Detroit [COCC]; and a retired Ford Motor Co. design engineer.

“As COCC President, I began DOOR, now in its fourth year,” Mr. Shebib said. “I was advised to incorporate the ODF as a 501(c)(3) charity to raise funds to meet DOOR’s weekly programming expenses.”

ODF also supports Fresh Start Detroit, which identifies and assists homeless men and women who seek to improve their well-being and living conditions by providing them with basic necessities such as food, clothing and personal hygiene items.

Mr. Shebid described ODF’s methodology by quoting Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
