Add Bulgarians to list of churches not going to Amman

(Bulgarian Patriarchate - machine translated) - In connection with letters received from His Beatitude, Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem, in which he invites to the Fraternal Assembly of the Presidents of the Local Orthodox Churches and their delegations in Amman, Jordan, St. The BOC-BP Synod announces that it is refraining from attending the above meeting and will accordingly not send its representatives to Amman, the capital of Jordan. St. Holy Synod expresses his personal brotherly love for His Beatitude the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilus III and his deep respect for the Patriarchate of Jerusalem - the millennial guardian of the life-giving Tomb of the Lord.

  1. I wonder who threatened the Bulgarian Patriarch.

  2. I understood he was favorable to the Ukrainian schism. As is his Metropolitan in the US. Sad

    1. Boris,
your comment came as a surprise to me. I know what the position of the holy synod is regarding the Ukrainian situation, however, I have never heard the Metropolitan say what you reported. What is your source and is it credible?

    2. I think I either read in on a Bulgarian language site or else from a Bulgarian family in my church. The family goes back to Bulgaria every year. The Metropolitan of their city, Plovdiv, not only supports Ukrainian autocephaly, but the schismatic Macedonian church as well. They know Metropolitan Joseph's former vicar, now Metropolitan Daniel. Metropolitan Daniel must definitely opposes the Ukrainian schism. Let's hope I was mistaken about Metropolitan Joseph.

    3. Actually the holy synod will not serve with them directly, except when in another diocese outside Bulgaria as did one of our bishops while in Greece.

    4. Perhaps more like inconsistent policy. We seem do that in many places, especially in America.
