    1. He would do well with the Anglican Settlement that King Charley recently swore to uphold. Be vague. Change with the times on a biweekly basis.

  2. Dr. Frost (I took a class from her in seminary - she is a good teacher who nonetheless believes St. Paul was a bigot), Demacopoulos, Elpidophoros - these folks are symptoms (and the intellectual 'public voice') of a culture *within* American Orthodoxy, a culture of modern anthropological beliefs. Those around them within Orthodoxy who understand what they are and are about don't really know what to do. What can be done other then a public censuring and purge? Does Orthodoxy even have a praxis/process for such a pruning? What the "progressives" understand is that by leveraging practical politics like parish counsels, synods, conferences, charters, etc. they can get what they want.

When I talk to conservative/traditional intellectuals they almost always come down to some sort of counsel around "patience", holding firm to the belief that the Body can "carry" these folks and prayerfully 'cover their sins' and possibly even eventually re-form them. Yet, they admit besides an occasional personal success story around such patience, the progressive culture is growing and (albeit slowly) capturing the praxis of the Church. Conservatives have to reach all the way back to Arianism of the first millennium for a narrative of Orthodoxy prevailing over a persistent anti-Orthodox culture *within* the Church.

Dr. Frost and the like know that time and culture is on their side...
