A history of the Orthodox Study Bible

"This recording is from the March 2, 2008 special visit by Fr. Peter Gillquist, project leader for the New Orthodox Study Bible. Fr. Peter speaks frankly about the NOSB, the challenges of managing the project and provides many answers to questions presented regarding what is and is not included in this volume."

It was quite enlightening. He says not to consider the work so much a translation as it is a "developed text" that took the best of what was available and accurate and tried to use an approachable vernacular that was in keeping with the New King James. He also covers how he chose the additional portions (the glossary, a piece by Met. Kallistos, etc.) to keep in and those that couldn't make it (copious patristic notes, complete prayers for the home, etc.). We use this book during weekend study sessions and have so far enjoyed it a lot.
