On the role of bishops

Speaking the Truth in Love is my favorite podcast. That said, this post is also very timely. As the Antiochian archdiocese struggles with the issue of hierarchy, as people wonder what the Episcopal Assembly means for their jurisdiction and their bishop, and as converts continue to come in seeking an understanding of what being a bishop in the Orthodox Church means, this first installment in a multi-part podcast is a welcome publication. I should also point out that it seems Fr. Hopko is in high gear as this year is coming to a close. His podcasts, open letters, and visits to church events have been occurring with little interruption in recent weeks.

(AFR) - Fr. Tom begins a series of talks on the role of Bishops in the Church and their relationships to each other, to the priests, the deacons, and to us. He begins by identifying what is common to all of us in creation. Please also listen to a special encouragement at the very beginning of today's episode.
