At one parish it was a group of male gypsies who talked on cellphones or smoked cigarettes. At another it was a few Protestant husbands who, though they never attended services, opened the parish doors for people as they filed in. At yet another parish the men stood in the narthex and chatted until it was time to receive and then got in line. Latin or Greek Catholic, Eastern or Oriental Orthodox I see the same small throng of men standing next to the front door, but not standing, sitting, or kneeling amongst the people. Any idea why the bishop candidate and his brother were suspended?
ReplyDeleteApparently someone sent a letter to moscow in the letterhead of the ROCOR synod stating that that particular priest had been elected as bishop, and the synod of the MP accepted the candidacy, but unbeknownst to the MP synod the letter was a high quality fake from an unknown source, as the ROCOR synod had never elected that priest to a bishopric. Really just an unfortunate scenario. Glory to God the error was rooted out and exposed!
DeleteAmazes me that someone would think they could get themselves made a bishop, without the consent of their local bishops, and get away with it...in what scenario would that have worked? Its not like you can say no take backs.
