"The priest’s son asked me to marry him..."

Possibly good fodder for seminarians needing a wife...

A silly song about a woman who regrets declining a marriage proposal from the priest’s son:
The priest’s son asked me to marry him - he was giving me seven oxen. Oh, I thought and thought - I won’t accept, I thought. He was giving me seven oxen. But I stupidly didn’t take them, I would have plowed with six of them and sold the seventh. I would have hired a guy to take care of them, a young man that would chase the oxen to the watering hole. And while the oxen are drinking, you’ll stand with me. We’ll chat, my sweetheart, we’ll speak softly like doves murmuring.
